Coaching for athletes who compete at the highest level

Talent and training get you to the elite level. Staying there asks more: a settled identity, a clear mind and a reason to compete that is bigger than the scoreboard.

Reverend Rob works with college and professional athletes who want their faith and their performance pulling in the same direction. Athletes usually reach out during moments like these:

  • Coming back from injury
  • A slump or loss of confidence
  • Transfer, draft or contract pressure
  • Stepping into a leadership role
  • Living out faith in the locker room
  • Preparing for life after sport

The four coaching pillars

Every coaching plan draws on the same four areas, weighted to what you need most right now.

Spiritual Foundation

Elite competition tests who you are, not only what you can do. This pillar strengthens your core identity in faith through Scripture, prayer and honest conversation, so your sense of worth holds steady through wins, losses, criticism and time on the bench.

Mental Toughness

A resilient mindset is built before the pressure arrives. You will develop focus, composure and recovery habits rooted in divine purpose, so that mistakes, hostile crowds and high-stakes moments sharpen you instead of rattling you.

Leadership & Character

Teammates follow people they trust. This work is about leading with integrity and Christ-like character in the locker room, on the field and in public, including how you handle conflict, attention and influence.

Game-Day Confidence

Confidence that depends on the last result does not last. Together you will build pre-competition routines grounded in peace rather than fear, so you can compete freely and bring everything you have trained for.

How coaching works

  1. Introductory conversation

A first session to talk through your sport, your season, your faith and what you want to change.

  2. A plan that fits your schedule

Rob outlines which pillars to focus on and a rhythm of sessions that works around training, travel and competition.

  3. One-on-one sessions

Regular private sessions [by video call or in person] combining coaching, Scripture and practical tools you can use the same week.

  4. Support when it counts

Check-ins around the moments that matter most: game week, setbacks, big decisions and transitions.

Common questions

Do I have to be a Christian to work with Reverend Rob?

No. The coaching is openly Christ-centered, and Scripture and prayer are part of the work, but athletes at any stage of faith are welcome, including those who are only beginning to ask questions.

How is this different from working with a sports psychologist?

A sports psychologist is a licensed clinician who works on the mental side of performance. Reverend Rob is a minister and coach whose focus is identity, purpose and character grounded in faith, applied under competitive pressure. Many athletes use both. Coaching is not a substitute for medical or mental health care.

Do you work with teams or only individuals?

Most coaching is one-on-one. [Team sessions, chapel talks and speaking engagements are available on request.]

Can sessions be done remotely?

[Yes. Sessions are available by video call, which keeps coaching consistent during travel and in season.]

Are sessions confidential?

Yes. What you share in a session stays between you and Reverend Rob.
